ABOUT CALIFORNIA DAILY ART
Everyday I like to paint a painting from my daily experiences or ideas and images that come to me. These paintings are the essence of my California experience that I go through everyday in the San Francisco Bay area. The idea comes from the poet Laureate David Allen Evans who, one time in an interview, mentioned that he finds the subject to write poems from his everyday walk in the morning to his studio. Sometimes it can even come from a blade of grass or a little pebble and can turn into a poem for that day. That every day activity of creation and of self expression has inspired me to search for a new image everyday to encapsulate my own experience of living here in beautiful California. I paint that image on a little postcard everyday. I love to share these little paintings with my family, friends and art lovers all over the world. I invite you to get into a habit of viewing this new California image everyday and also to view my other works on my website chandrasarts.com. |

PRAKASH N. CHANDRAS | ARTIST
I emigrated from India to the United States in 1970 and finished a MBA in 1975. After which, I continued to pursue a childhood passion of art at the distinguished Art Students League in New York City. An MFA in Painting was completed in California in 1983. Since 1986 I have been instructing studio classes at local community colleges in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, using various mediums I paint portraits, landscapes, figurative art, abstractions, and also continue to paint in my own signature style known as Linearism (painting technique using only parallel lines, developed in 1975). More information is available at chandrasarts.com. |
